Hey guys, and welcome to blog entry 17. I am going to talk about confidence and how people should see themselves. This is a little similar to my “Don’t Follow The Crowd” post so if you haven’t read that entry, please do.
I am a very confident person, but I know I’m not a super model. I have just as many flaws as the next person. People nowadays believe that they need to look like a celebrity to fit in. Guys want to have muscles and girls want to have a great figure. Teenagers will freak out if they get a pimple and will buy every and any cosmetic to try to get flawless skin. The also think they need designer clothes and the best jewelry. I am not trying to label all teens—but some of us act like this once in a while.
Some people also change their appearance and personality to fit in with their peers. A girl who is into jeans and sweats will change to skirts and leggings in order to fit in with the crowd. A guy who isn’t into sports will try out for the football team or basketball team in order to have some more friends. You shouldn’t change who you are and what you like in order to fit in. Have confidence in yourself and life won’t be as bad as you think.
The same goes for the people who have problems with their body and physical appearance. If you are overweight or underweight, then don’t let people pull you down. Get some help by seeing a doctor or physical therapist and make sure you are perfectly healthy. If you are a girl and your figure isn’t the best, it is perfectly fine. You will find someone who loves you for you, not for just your body. If you are a guy and you are not that tall or muscular, don’t torture yourself trying to buff yourself up. Exercise efficiently and be patient, some people blossom late. There are people out there who are looking for brains, not brawn.
If you think you are downright unattractive, then stop. Everyone is beautiful in his or her own way and everyone has potential. If you are feeling low, listen to some songs that will make you feel better, like “Fighter” by Christina Aguilera. The song means that no matter what happens, you will come out stronger in the end. You can also listen to “Born this Way,” by Lady Gaga. Basically, you are beautiful no matter who you are, who you like, and what you like.
So that is the end of my blog. I hope you liked it. Remember to keep your head held high and never look back. Stand tall and be brave. Don’t let anyone bring you down, because you are beautiful no matter what anybody says. Also, I suggest you watch a somewhat inspirational video by Shane Dawson known as Draw My Life. Bye, everybody.
