Hello everyone and welcome to my new blog entry. As some of you know, Valentine’s Day just passed and this special blog entry will be dedicated to those who are single as well as those who have a special someone.

Some teens hate Valentine’s Day. They see it is a pointless day where you give gifts, chocolate, flowers, etc. to your significant other. In my opinion, Valentine’s Day is a beautiful day. You get to spend time with the one you love and it is a day focused on you. I’m the type of person who loves love so my opinion is a little biased, but I do truly believe Valentine’s Day is not a bad day.

For those who are single and/or don’t have someone to spend Valentine’s Day with, you are completely wrong. Valentine’s Day is not just about being with your spouse/partner. You can spend it with family and friends. The day about love should be spent with those who love you the most and vice versa. My family and friends always get me a little something for Valentine’s Day and I do the same for them. Just because you're single doesn’t mean you don’t have time to spend with someone.

For those who are coupled up, congrats on you two getting together. Love is a great thing and I am glad people out there enjoy it. However, don’t let Valentine’s Day get you all whooped over. We should all remember that the day of love is to be spent with the one(s) you love—not get them all kinds of gifts. It is nice to get them some flowers or chocolates, but don’t go to the extreme. They love you for you— not your stuff.

Anyway, Valentine’s Day is a great day, but some people just see it as an excuse to get with someone or into someone. Remember it is the day of Love, not Lust. Don’t spend it with someone knowing that there would be no future between you two. Also, I would like to point out that Valentine’s Day is a day for all people, straight or gay. So if you are attracted to the same sex and you have a partner, don’t be afraid or embarrassed to do something special with them. There is nothing shameful about love.
